Safari with the Big Five & Volunteer Work PDF Print E-mail

Day 1: Panafric Hotel, Nairobi.

The guests will arrive in Nairobi via JKIA  where they will be met by our staff who will transfer them to the city hotel for overnight stay and relaxation.

Day 2 – 26: Mago Polytechnic school-Kakamega.

After breakfast, the guests will depart for the airport for a scheduled flight to Kisumu city in the western Kenya where they will be met by the Mago polytechnic staff. They will be transferred to the school,to check in the school guest house{part of the school project}for accommodation in the duration of their stay.

Mago  Polytechnic School is a doner funded project by a group of Dutch philanthropy hardware dealers whose aim is to uplift the living standards of the local community that has been hit hard with Malaria, Hiv/Aids,poverty extra. The aim of the volunteer is hence to offer any skills in kind to supplement the existing teaching staff to reach out to the orphans in the school,and to the larger community outreach programme involving health etc.

Activities

Teaching, Village visits, Bull/cock fighting expeditions, Visits to the Kakamega rain forest which has monkeys among other mammals and over 300 bird species. A visit to the famous Kakamega Crying stone will be done. The stone usually 'cries' around August of each year.

Achievements: By staying in the school guest house,the income gained thereof is used to assist run the school projects. Also by offering your skills,you  are in effect offering the community a life time asset to be used towards the  uplifting  of their lives.

Day  27-28-29 Maasai Mara National Reserve

The guests will after breakfast be met  at  the school by our driver guide to travel to Maasai mara  through Kisumu city, Kisii town, Kilgoris town  to check in the Serena Mara Lodge in time for Lunch..The  guests will find the Flora and fauna enroute very fascinating.

The Mara is the continuation of the Serengeti  ecosystem in Tanzania, where yearly between July and October, migration of wildebeests  takes place crossing over to the Mara in search of green pastures using the Mara river despite the looming danger from the waiting carnivals laying in wait in the waters and besides the river banks. These episodes have since made the Mara National Reserve be declared the 7th wonder of the world. The reserve is also a home to the big five among other mammals and over 300 bird species.

Activities

Two game drives a day, Visits to the traditional Masai villages and just relaxing besides the pool.

Day 30: Nairobi, Flight Home.

After breakfast, the guests will travel to the city, have lunch in a city restaurant before embarking on the city tour and shopping. The guests will have a farewell dinner at the carnivore restaurant courtesy of ZOAR TOURS thereafter transfer to the airport for a flight home.
